The shadows are either all matte or all shimmer. It's your choice! Note that the shades are not the same in the two versions. The colors are really high-pigmented and very creamy, hence, blend easily. Some actually prefer these pretty 42 double stack to the 88 palette because of creamier and smoothier texture.

Both versions have the same set of blushes, which are mixed of matte and shimmer.
